March 6th in the church 5:30-6:15p.m., (break from 6:15-6:30), Mission continues from 6:30-7:00p.m. Fr. Jordan, O.P from Providence College, will give our Mission.
Before joining the Dominicans, he earned a doctorate in Shakespearean drama at UMass Amherst and discovered his calling to the priesthood and religious life through his experience at the Newman Center (where he got to know a certain Deacon, now Fr. David Aufiero!). Fr. Jordan was ordained to the priesthood in May 2020, in the midst of the Covid-19 lockdown, and his Lenten Mission talks will focus on this “age of sacrifice” we’re living through: the ongoing impact that the pandemic is having, as well as the opportunities it affords for our spiritual lives. For as the poet Paul Claudel once remarked, “Jesus did not come to explain away suffering, or to remove it. He came to fill it with His presence.” Through suffering and sacrifice, we discover the hope that Presence supplies.
